Organic & Globally Sourced Coffee Beans
At Piccadilly, we are proud to feature organic and premium coffees from around the globe. Our goal is to provide you a high quality and great tasting coffee selection. In addition to wonderfully brewed drip coffee, we welcome you to try our French Press and Pour Over preparations.
The plunger pot, commonly known as the "French Press", was invented in France in the mid-1800s. The French Press is a cylindrical pot with a plunger and built-in filter screen that presses hot water through ground coffee. This method of choice for many the world over, creates an earthy, rich cup of coffee.
A distinct advantage to the French press is that it retains more of the natural oils from the coffee grounds. Most people agree that the oils are what give the coffee its finest taste. Because a French press does not use a filter as a drip type machine does, the robust natural flavor of the coffee grounds is not filtered out.
The pour over coffee method is arguably the ‘cleanest’ and ‘purest’ way to make and drink coffee. There is no residue left in the cup, because the water is not dripped and is not fully immersed. 200 degree Fahrenheit water is poured into the cone, stirred briefly, and moments later the finished product has entirely drained into the mug. The first time you try pour over coffee you may be taken aback, it is bold yet without even a hint of residue.
To be frank, this method is not for everyone. It takes more time and is pricier, however, some will enjoy the ritual. Of course in the end, it's a matter of taste. We invite you to have fun and explore what works best for you.
